Installation

Installation of New Flooring

At Fogelsonger's Affordable Floors, we provide you with the knowledge and understanding needed to make the right choice in for you. Getting new floors is as easy as 1, 2, 3!

  1. Visit our showroom to chose the perfect flooring for you!

  2. One of our expert team members will then come to your home and perform a professional on-site measurement. At this time it will be determined who will remove the existing floors, who is moving the furniture and/or appliances and schedule an installation date.

  3. Once the floors arrive we will deliver and install new flooring!

Before Floors are Installed...

If you are removing the existing flooring, be sure this is done prior to our arrival. Then vacuum the floor thoroughly. Be sure to remove all fragile items from the room and anything hanging such as plants or drapery. If you are painting the room, make sure this is done prior to the installation or floors. Then, be sure to keep extra paint available for touch-ups as needed after installation.

Caring for Your New Floors

Caring for Your Carpet

Keeping your carpet looking like new isn't hard. It just takes a little maintenance. Vacuum carpet regularly to prolong the life of your carpet. To view a complete list of certified vacuums provided by The Carpet and Rug Institute, click HERE

Try to be pro-active in avoiding spill and potential stains. Most of today's carpets come with stain blockers built in, but keep in mind, no carpet is completely stain resistant. When stains do occur, be sure to clean immediately. If you need products to clean up a stain on your carpet, search for DIY or commercial cleaners to do the job. And be sure to reference the carpet's manufacturer's warranty for care requirements.

Caring for Your Laminate & Resilient

Cleaning laminate and resilient floors can generally be quick and easy. Consistently sweeping and dusting the flooring will keep it looking shiny and new for years to come  When using a vacuum, use the hard floor attachment.

When most spills occur, simply use a damp cloth and blot dry. Try not to let liquids sit on resilient and laminate for too long.

What To Use On Laminate/Resilient Flooring:

Clean, Damp Cloth

Acetone-Based Cleaner

What NOT to Use On Laminate/Resilient Flooring:

- Steel Wool

- Liquid Cleaning Materials Not Made for this type of Flooring Such as Chlorinated Cleaners, Ammonia-Based Cleaners or Oil/Soap Detergent

Always refer to the manufacturer's warranty for care requirements. Using products not made for cleaning laminate may void the manufacturer's warranty.

Caring for Your Hardwood Floors

It is important to provide your hardwood floors the care they need to protect them and keep them looking fabulous. Consistently sweeping and dusting the flooring will keep it looking shiny and new for years to come. Periodically use a damp cloth or mop to bring a shine to your hardwood floors.  When using a vacuum, use the hard floor attachment.

When most spills occur, simply use a damp cloth and blot dry. Try not to let liquids sit on hardwood flooring for too long. Use acetone or nail polish remover for hard-to-remove stains. Do not use products or machines not made for hardwood flooring.

Always refer to the manufacturer's warranty for care requirements. Using products not made for cleaning laminate may void the manufacturer's warranty.
